Carnahan Store, Cloutierville, LA
A proud structure is all that remains of the Carnahan General store in Cloutierville. The store remained open until 1990.
Lawrence "Cokey" Carnahan compared the store in its heyday to Walmart now. "Back then you could walk in the store naked and hungry and walk out fully clothed and well fed."
